Triston McKenzie Trade

(6/10/22)

Shepherd Goods Choppers trades Triston McKenzie (SP, Guardians)

to

Ornery Otters for 6th Round MLB Pick

SG Choppers trade grade: B+
Ornery Otters trade grade: B+

Trade Summary:
If any team needed to trade for a starting pitcher, it was the Ornery Otters. Even still, the Choppers got good value here. It wasn’t extraordinary value, but a 6th Round MLB player could have been a player like Taylor Rodgers, Austin Hays or of that ilk. With the right selection, it’s an asset the Choppers could use to start building up that team next year.

McKenzie himself has been a great player so far this season. He has a 3.09 ERA after last night’s start whit a sub 1 WHIP. 6 of his 10 starts have been quality starts – he’s just not getting the wins.

McKenzie immediately jumps in ‘ the 2nd or 3rd best starter on the Ornery Otters, averaging 19 points per game.

And this trade went in before yesterday’s game where McKenzie scored a solid 21.5 points, a big boon for the Ornery Otters, who are buying back into MLB after an 0-4 start. Korey just got substantially better.
