Richaun Holmes Trade

(3/7/22)

MN Moose Knuckles trades Richaun Holmes (PF/C, Kings)

to

Cooper Troopers for Jae Crowder (SF/PF, Suns)

MN Moose Knuckles trade grade: B-
Cooper Troopers trade grade: A

Trade Summary:
An absolute win-win trade struck at the bell between unlikely partners. The Cooper Troopers make their FIRST EVER League of Leagues trade. This is a small deal, but baby steps, right?

Richaun Holmes was an extreme disappointment for fantasy this year, but he’s ranked highly in dynasty circles. The Domantas Sabonis trade was a bad, bad, bad omen for Richaun Holmes, but he’s still signed to a legitimate NBA contract at about $12 million per year.

The hope for the Cooper Troopers is that Holmes gets a trade to a new team that could use a pick and roll big. Holmes is a guy whose situation could change in an instant and be 30ppg fantasy scorer. It’s a great gamble for Coop to make.

The MN Moose Knuckles, on the other hand, just needed another body this week with his injuries. Jae Crowder is averaging over 31 points over the last two weeks of play. If he can keep that up, which he should given the injuries and COVID issues on the Phoenix Suns roster, the MN Moose Knuckles can consider this trade a big win.

Jae Crowder is a great trade target, because he plays 28.5 minutes a game. Sometimes, all you want are guys that play legitimate minutes every night.

Now, we’ll see if Crowder is the difference between a win and a loss for the MN Moose Knuckles.
