to

$traight Cash Homie for 2nd Round NBA Draft Pick, 10th Round NBA Draft Pick (& Amed Rosario and Aaron Civale

SG Choppers trade grade: B+
$traight Cash Homie trade grade: B+

Trade Summary:
In a buyer’s market, the SG Choppers are the first team to find a trading partner. It was costly, however. Dye had to give up two legitimate starting pitchers and a hitter to get it done. However, the Choppers knew they weren’t going anywhere this season, and a 2nd Round NBA pick is a legitimate asset. He is certainly selling low on Luis Castillo, but he’ll be able to find enough keepers to make up for giving him away.

On the $traight Cash Homie side of things, Luis Castillo isn’t going to turn into a dominant pitcher this season on the Reds (barring a trade). But he serves two purposes. One, he is an upgrade to a pitching staff that needed some more juice. And two, he is a solid keeper option in a league where starting pitching matters more than other leagues.

The Choppers will have names like Josh Hart, Harrison Barnes, Keldon Johnson, Jalen Brunson and Kyle Kuzma to chose from with that NBA 2nd round pick, and he gets the 10th rounder he lost back. That will help Dye build a better NBA squad next season and not be on the bottom of the league again. He has talent there. He just needed more depth, and this is a perfect asset for him to start building that back.

Both he and $traight Cash Homie will both likely have 4 picks in the top-27 of the NBA draft, dueling each other for rookies and veterans alike.
