SG Choppers trade grade: B
Ornery Otters trade grade: B
Trade Summary:
The SG Choppers continue to make moves and make waves, this time dealing out club favorite Ke’Bryan Hayes. Averaging over 2.3 points per game, Hayes is off to a solid start this season despite not hitting a single home run so far. On FanTrax’s latest dynasty rankings sheet, Hayes is ranked 135th, the edge of keeper territory. But the Ornery Otters still needed a #Hunk, and they are getting a young player who could be on the team for a very long time.
The Ornery Otters only have to give up two players that weren’t even in consideration to be kept, so Korey has to feel pretty good about getting a legitimate keeper in baseball, even if Hayes is more on the fringe. Hayes is also signed to an 8-year contract, so he’s got stability and upside.
For the SG Choppers, getting two keepable NFL bodies at this point in the season is a big deal. He still probably needs one more keeper, but he can wait it out and adjust at this point. Instead of needing 3 or 4, now he only needs 1 or 2, and that’s a big deal. Singletary is the projected starting RB of the Super Bowl favorite right now. He’s still a young player and could have a big season. Jared Goff might be out of a starting job after this season, but he’s still a bonafide starting QB in the NFL and gives the Choppers a 3rd QB behind Mahomes and Hurts for depth and in-season trade purposes. The 3rd QB always gives you flexibility, and he won’t need to scramble if his top-2 go down injured.
The Choppers still have the worst NFL keeper situation, but it’s better today than yesterday and that counts for something.
