Trade Summary:
DLo goes as a back-end keeper from Las Cabras to $traight Cash Homie, but one can’t help but feel like there is still a lot of value in Russell. Only 26, he still has years of productive play ahead of him, as well as upside this year with Rudy Gobert on the Wolvers, a near perfect fir for DLo’s playing style.

But Las Cabras were smart to try to get something out of one of their extra keepers. They are big believers in Collin Sexton, and this trade frees up that roster spot to keep him. An 8th round NBA pick just doesn’t seem like much, and it isn’t. But when you’re trying to get a player off of your roster that you won’t keep, it’s best to just muster something.

For $traight Cash Homie, it gives him another option at the end of the keeper list. With Donovan Mitchell going to Cleveland, Caris LeVert, Jack’s current 6th keeper, loses a significant amount of value. Russell is probably a better short and long-term option for Jack.
