(Tier 1) The top tier is firmly established now. While The Pullies might be overperforming, a 4-0 start gives them a 3-game cushion over non-playoff teams right now. It’d probably take over a month to relinquish that.

Win’s Up Doc has also surprised this season, but Oat has more staying power as the SIGNIFICANT leader in points scored on the season. Win’s Up Doc isn’t lower than 4 in any of the major scoring categories. He’s first in rebounds, the most important stat in the NBA portion in the League of Leagues. He’s 3rd in assists. 4th in steals. 2nd in blocks. 2nd in points. This squad is forgoing its Hippocratic oath, causing immeasurable damage to fellow league-mates with Death Star-quality disintegrations of his opponents’ teams. It’s one of the more impressive 4-week stretches in fantasy history, considering he wasn’t projected to be a tremendously competent team. Everyone was wrong about Doc.

(Tier 2) There are two types of teams in Tier 2. One – a team with a high total points scored tally with a modest record. Two – a team with a solid record, but a modest point total. The BamO’s and DTC Porkchop Express fall under the former. These are top-5 scoring teams that are only 2-2. It might surprise everyone, however, that The BamO’s are the #3 scoring team on the season. In fact, they’d easily be #2 if Sam had set his lineup against $traight Cash Homie in Week 3. The BamO’s might find their way into Tier 1 before it’s all said and done, but prioritizing lineup setting is paramount.

It was a down week for DTC Porkchop Express who still barely eked out a victory over Las Cabras. But Craig can’t be too upset with a 2-0 week in both basketball and football perhaps positioning himself best for the balanced approach to a season-long win.

MN Moose Knuckles are the second type of team in Tier 2. They are 9th in total points, but 2nd in record. However, a victory over Wait ‘Til Next Year early in the season puts him in an interesting position to make a division push. But Kyle’s team is far superior, and the Moose Knuckles are bound to fall further and further back as the year goes along.

(Tier 3) There are SIX (!!!) 1-3 teams in Tier 3, a fascinating state of affairs. All of these teams are only one game back from the 5th and 6th seeds right now, but each have flaws that have reared over the past couple of weeks. Sporty Strauss, Ornery Otters, and Las Cabras are still scoring enough points to stay competitive, but are drawing tough matchups every week. Each of these teams should be able to sneak back into contention with a timely win, though the top-6 teams in the league are all very solidified right now. Las Cabras losing to DTC in particular is a pretty tough loss given how close it was and the fact that the teams are only 1 game apart. The MN Moose Knuckles are the most likely team to fall out of contention, and that’s who the 1-3 teams need to be targeting to beat.

But the bottom-3 teams in the league are in rough, rough shape. It’s not over. All 3 teams have the same record as the other Tier 3 squads. But they need to start making some moves ASAP to get back on track.

Week 4 High Score

  • The BamO’s (Sam)

  • 1527 points

Notes: This is why Sam is 3rd (should be 2nd) in total points scored this year. His team had an explosion the likes of which hadn’t been seen in any managers’ fantasy basketball careers so far. This could very likely be the highest scoring week of any team all year.

Week 4 Low Score (AKA the JackJack Award)

  • $traight Cash Homie (Jack)

  • 997 points

Notes: After a 1-week hiatus (and a win), Jack is back! The Weekly Low Score in NBA is hereby known as the weekly JackJack Award. 3 out of 4 weeks is enough to label something after such gross futility.

Week 4 MVP

  • Ja Morant

  • The Pullies (Pete/Eric)

  • 195 points

Notes: Ja scored almost 200 points BY HIMSELF this week – a crazy, near-insurmountable scoring clip. Even still, The Pullies barely stayed undefeated, fending of a late charge by the Ornery Otters who became quite ornery after this loss to The Pullies. There is nothing more humiliating than a loss to those wretched pull tabs.

Week 4 LVP(s)

  • Cade Cunningham

  • Ornery Otters (Korey)

  • 65 points

Notes: Cade Cunningham’s slow start has absolutely doomed the Otters to a 1-3 start. Just slightly more production from the #1 overall pick in this year’s draft, and Korey sneaks out a win vs The Pullies, but alas, ‘twas not to be. All that being said, if Cade can pick it up, the Ornery Otters are going to be a force to reckon with with depth all over that roster.

Week 5 Matchups

  • Wait ’Til Next Year (1) vs Shepherd Goods Choppers (10)

  • Win’s Up Doc (2) vs The Pullies (3)

  • DTC Porkchop Express (4) vs $traight Cash Homie (12)

  • The BamOs (5) vs MN Moose Knuckles (6)

  • Sporty Strauss (7) vs Las Cabras (9)

  • Ornery Otters (8) vs Cooper Troopers (10)

Week 5 Matchup of the Week

Win’s Up Doc (2) vs The Pullies (3)

The battle of the upstarts! The Pullies can prove to everyone that they belong in Tier 1 with a victory against the Oat onslaught. Win’s Up Doc needs to continue to score at a high clip and prove his consistency. On top of that, this matchup is critical for the BYE (next to Kyle) at the end of the season.

Buckle in!
