(Tier 1) The NBA regular season is over halfway done, and it feels like the NBA just took all of these League of Leagues teams, put them in a snow globe, and shook everything up. Boy, was last week a strange week. Not only did the top 5 teams on the power rankings lose (!!!), but teams ranked 6th through 11th all won, making the middle of the league a crapshoot.
Up top, there’s not much to discuss as Win’s Up Doc (1), Wait ‘Til Next Year (2), and DTC Porkchop Express (3) got hit hard by COVID, but the rest of the season still proves that they are the top dogs.
(Tier 2) Plus, the next couple teams, The Pullies (5) and Sporty Strauss (4) also both lost, so nobody is really threatening those top-3 teams.
But the Minnesota Moose Knuckles (7), the Ornery Otters (6) and The BamO’s (8) have made their move. This makes the playoff races exciting, however, as no team should feel terrifically comfortable about where they stand right now. Even Win’s Up Doc is only 2 games up from the last playoff spot. Making the playoffs is no guarantee for anybody right now.
(Tier 3) Las Cabras (9) are the favorite to win the NFL leg of the League of Leagues, but the newfound strength of the middle of the NBA League of Leagues is making things difficult for them to compete here. But a win last week was important. Now they can try to smash The BamO’s 2 out of the next 3 weeks to push for a playoff spot, which isn’t out of reach right now.
For The Cooper Troopers (11) and $traight Cash Homie (10), wins ALSO keep them alive. If Cooper Troopers can get a little bit healthier, there’s a slim chance they could stretch back into playoff contention. With another win in football, the Cooper Troopers could be the epitome of a dark horse if they can nail the baseball draft. For $traight Cash Homie, it’s great to see his team continue to compete and battle through his injuries. If Zion ever comes back, this is a team that could win some Consolation playoff games.
And then there’s the Choppers, who we can forget about until the end of the season.
Week 10 High Score
The BamO’s (Sam)
1231
Notes: The BamO’s are the strangest team in the League of Leagues. One week, they score a Jordan-level score. Then they have a few highest scoring weeks in the League. This team needs to get healthy, and then it can become a true dynamic force in this league. This team could easily win it all if they go on a run here.
Week 10 Low Score (AKA the JordJack Award)
Shepherd Goods Choppers (Jordan)
743
Notes: This is so bad. This team is horrific, and there’s no signs of improvement.
Week 10 MVP
Josh Hart
Sporty Strauss (Strauss)
130 points
Notes: Josh Hart is NOT a player you’d expect to score over 43 points per game. That’s an absurd number for a player who has played well, but nothing close to that all season. The BamO’s might have another gem on their hands, and they needed him in the worst way for the upcoming stretch. Sporty Strauss had a good week, but The BamO’s were better thanks to a having good Hart.
Week 10 LVP(s)
Rudy Gay
DTC Porkchop Express (Craig)
29 points
Notes: 29 points is what you’d want from ONE game, not THREE. This is a guy that still plays 20 minutes a game and could get rebounds and points, but these numbers simply don’t cut it.

Week 12 MATCHUP of the WEEK
Ornery Otters [5-5] (6th) vs MN Moose Knuckles [6-3] (7th)
It’s a rule – any matchup between the 6th and 7th teams in the Power Rankings, MUST be the Matchup of the Week, even if this should be an easy Moose Knuckles win due to COVID. Theoretically, this game is a playoff matchup. If MN Moose Knuckles win, they claim the (current) tiebreaker over Ornery Otters and vice versa. But the Knuckles would have a 2-game lead AND that tiebreaker with a win, which would be massive. An Otters win muddies the playoff waters even more.
