Zeke Trade

(2/6/22) Win’s Up Doc trades Ezekiel Elliott (RB, DAL)

to

Shepherd Goods Choppers for 2nd Rd MLB Snake Pick (this year) and an 8th Rd NBA Draft Selection (next year)

Win’s Up Doc trade grade: B-
Shepherd Goods Choppers trade grade: C-

Trade Summary:
When it comes down to it, this is as even a trade as possible given the multi-sport format. Ezekiel Elliott is currently ranked in the 210s for TOTAL dynasty value right now, and the MLB Pick is likely in the late 190s or early 210s. So Oat is getting a little bit value here, and MLB draft picks are amongst the most undervalued assets.

Everyone wants auction dollars, but there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to spend all your auction dollars in an MLB draft. Draft picks might be more valuable given their certainty, and it gives Oat flexibility in the auction to make the selections he wants.

For the Choppers, they are desperate for NFL bodies, and Zeke isn’t a bad flier. The Choppers are maybe just buying a little to much into the NFL market right now, which should be depressed, instead of canvassing other teams who might have given assets cheaper.

But in the end, both teams walk away a little bit happy with this deal. The Choppers just need to hit that MLB waiver wire HARD to make up for the loss of a draft pick.
