NBA In-Season Trades

(10/21/21) Sporty Strauss trades Darnell Mooney (WR, CHI)

to

Win's Up Doc for Dillon Brooks (SG/SF, MEM)

@Michael Strauss trade grade: C+
@Pat mcgonagill trade grade: C-

Trade Summary:
Very even trade here. Strauss gets the edge because depth in NBA Fantasy is king, but Oat gets a very nice return for a player that wouldn't have sniffed getting kept in NBA in Dillon Brooks. Mooney likely is a keeper and could be the WR1 in Chicago next year, but NBA assets are precious right now.In the end, this is the type of trade this league is built on. A 4-0 NBA squad trading assets to boost a middle-of-the pack football squad with a 1-3 NBA team who has a 95% chance to make the playoffs in football as things currently stand. Excellent work by both general managers.

(12-6-21) $traight Cash Homie trades CJ McCollum (SG, POR), Killian Hayes (PG, DET) and Davion Mitchell (SG, SAC)

to

The BamO’s for $15 MLB and 2022 NBA 2nd Round Pick

@Jack Bennett trade grade: B
@BamO trade grade: C

Trade Summary:
With Bam Adebayo hurt for several months and an extremely tight middle of the league in basketball, The BamO’s needed to do SOMETHING to improve their roster. CJ McCollum was by far the best player available in trades, and he provides an instant boost to Sam’s lineup. He’ll play the minutes Bam Adebayo normally would have, and then he’ll push Sam, who is already 4th in points, towards the top of the league when Bam is backSam also went with a win-now approach in the draft and eschewed drafting ANY #Hunks. He now gets two average #Hunks to round out a really good NBA roster. Now he needs to pray that he can get his baseball team in solid shape with only $80 remaining, the lowest in the League of Leagues.For $traight Cash Homie, this is a very interesting move. While there’s no guarantee he makes the playoffs in football, it looks more promising now than ever before. And his team could be deadly. With Lamar Jackson at QB, a monster game is always around the corner. He has impressive WRs and some interest depth. So selling right now wasn’t a guarantee.But his NBA team couldn’t truly compete until Zion Williamson got back. And even then, he might be a little bit too far behind the 8-ball to catch up to the truly competent teams. So selling in NBA makes some solid sense. The 2nd round pick is what makes this a great deal for Jack. These rounds of the snake draft are where @Pat mcgonagill dominated, giving his team a leg up on the League of Leagues. $traight Cash Homie now has the ammo to do the same.
