Terance Mann Trade

(3/5/22)

Ornery Otters trades Terance Mann (SF, Clippers)

to

MN Moose Knuckles for $2 MLB Budget

Ornery Otters trade grade: B+
MN Moose Knuckles trade grade: C+

Trade Summary:
These moves are a market inefficiency in the League of Leagues. A competent player who improves the floor of a team with a near guaranteed 20 points per night with the potential for more. The MN Moose Knuckles were a little low on forward talent, and Mann is a really solid add in normal circumstances.

The slight problem: Mann’s schedule. In the first week of the playoffs, Mann does play 4 games. In the second week, he has 3, which is fine but still hurts. But if the MN Moose Knuckles makes the championship game, Mann only has 2 games that week.

$2 MLB doesn’t move the needle very much, but it still gives me he Ornery Otters a little bit of flexibility in the auction. But Mann was an excellent player to trade due to that schedule. The Otters have a BYE in the consolation playoffs, so he wouldn’t need Mann’s 4-week play anyways. Then he’ll draw a weaker team to compete in a game to make the Consolation Championship, almost certainly The BamO’s who do look a little bit scary. Mann would help, but shouldn’t make the difference between winning and losing that game.

It the Otters make more moves, however, they’ll hinder their chances of scoring points in the Consolation Ladder.
