February Stock Up / Stock Down Report

Some players throughout the season move up or down in value. Many times, these movements directly correlate towards a change in a team’s rankings. These posts will capture these value change in ALL 3 SPORTS. They’ll primarily focus on in-season players, but if injuries or player movement happens in off-season sports, that’ll be denoted as well.

STOCK UP Players

  1. Tyrese Haliburton (PG/SG, Pacers) – Shepherd Goods Choppers

  2. Ben Simmons (PG, Nets) – Sporty Strauss

  3. Terry Taylor (SG, Pacers) – MN Moose Knuckles

  4. De’Aaron Fox (PG, Kings) – DTC Porkchop Express

  5. Saddiq Bey (SF/PF, Pistons) – Las Cabras

  6. Luka Doncic (PG/SG, Mavericks) – Win’s Up Doc

  7. Matthew Stafford (QB, Rams) – Ornery Otters

  8. Odell Beckham, Jr. (WR, Rams) – The Pullies

  9. Darius Bazley (SF/PF, Thunder) – Cooper Troopers

  10. Anfernee Simons (PG/SG, Trailblazers) – The Pullies

  • Tyrese Haliburton (PG/SG, Pacers) – Shepherd Goods Choppers

    • 24th Overall Dynasty

    • #HUNK status

    • 32.4 ppg on the season – 37.4 PPG over the last 15 days

    • 34.4 mpg on the season – 38 mpg over the last 15 days

      • Traded to Indiana Pacers this week

Haliburton was puzzlingly traded this week. He’s a name you thought would be untouchable. A hyper-effecient young player on a rookie contract. Jordan only got him for $13 in the auction draft, and he’s already outperformed that. Now, Haliburton is handed the reigns of an entire franchise firmly in tank mode. Haliburton is instantly the best player on the Indiana Pacers, and now he’ll be given a much higher usage share. He instantly becomes a top-25 fantasy player in the ENTIRETY League of Leagues, giving the Shepherd Goods Choppers a bonafide big-4 in NBA. Dye could instantly be a contender next year if he can have a better draft.

Ben Simmons (PG, Nets) – Sporty Strauss

  • 50th Overall Dynasty (should go higher)

  • traded to the Nets

Saved by the bell. Bell Simmons, Strauss should call him. There’s no other way to say this: Ben Simmons being traded at the NBA trade deadline FUNDAMENTALLY changes the entire league of leagues. If Sporty Strauss can get healthy down the stretch, they might be as good as any team in the league. Sporty Strauss can also feel freer to make some trades now that he has extra assets. If Simmons comes back as a 30ppg player, it’ll be a disappointment if he doesn’t make it out of the first round of the playoffs. And if he does, he might lock this league up early.

  • Terry Taylor (SG, Pacers) – MN Moose Knuckles

    • 32.4 ppg on the season – 23.4 PPG over the last 7 days

    • 34.4 mpg on the season – 24.7 mpg over the last 7 days

      • 30ppg, 12rpg, 4apg in G-League this season

Another new addition to the Indiana Pacers is Terry Taylor, a hybrid player who crushed the G-League this season. This could be a legitimate player for the rest of the year, though his minutes are still oscillating. He’s listed at SG which perfectly fits a need for the MN Moose Knuckles who just lost Bradley Beal for the rest of the season. Having a player who previously was on the wire score about 25ppg down the stretch would be massive for Hall.

  • De’Aaron Fox (PG, Kings) – DTC Porkchop Express

    • 44th Overall Dynasty

    • 31.1 ppg on the season – 41.7 PPG over the last 7 days

    • 34.2 mpg on the season – 35.5 mpg over the last 7 days

Fox’s long-term value consistently had been declining with the improved play of Tyrese Haliburton’s hot stretch in Fox’s absence. Now he’s returned from injury and just added an elite playmaking big man to his team. With both Fox and Sabonis on his own roster, DTC Porkchop Express just set himself up for a MUCH better situation than previous to the trade deadline. Both Sabonis and Fox gain dynasty value with this deal, and they’ll put up huge numbers on a bad team. Expect big numbers down the stretch for De’Aaron Fox.

  • Saddiq Bey (SF/PF, Pistons) – Las Cabras

    • 102nd Overall Dynasty

    • #HUNK status

    • 25.7 ppg on the season – 33.2 over the last 7 days

    • 33.5 mpg on the season – 33.3 mpg over the last 7 days

Jerami Grant had been playing poorly, so Saddiq Bey stepped up in his wake. Bey recently had three straight games of more than 20 actual points in an NBA game, and he fills the box score. Las Cabras have both Bey and Grant, and both are keepers who are siphoning each other’s production. Jordan and Trev needed a Jerami Grant trade, but to no avail. But Bey is still looking like a solid #Hunk each game that passes.

  • Luka Doncic (PG/SG, Mavericks) – Win’s Up Doc

    • 2nd Overall Dynasty

    • 46.7 ppg on the season – 58.2 ppg over the last week

    • 35 mpg on the season – 35.9 mpg over the last week

Luka is FINALLY playing like the man. He’s been okay all year outside of negative some missed time, but now he’s taking things to another level. At this current scoring clip, he’s the best asset in the entire League of Leagues. And his team just traded away a player he didn’t like – Kristaps Porzingis – to further construct a team that perfectly fits next to Luka to do everything for that team. The most important point, however, is that Luka’s dominance would make Win’s Up Doc almost unstoppable in the playoffs. A dominant Luka gives Doc a strong chance to grab that check.

  • Matthew Stafford (QB, Rams) – Ornery Otters

    • 39th Overall Dynasty (QB12)

    • 20.4 ppg this season (QB5)

Yes, the Rams recently traded a QB who led them to the Super Bowl, but Matthew Stafford is different. While he’s not young, Stafford still has a few good years left in the league. Leading the Rams past a division rival gives him some leeway down the twilight of his career, so the Ornery Otters can firmly pencil in another 5 years for Matthew Stafford and rely on him a clear QB1 for the next couple of years.

  • Odell Beckham, Jr. (WR, Rams) – The Pullies

    • 91st Overall Dynasty (QB21)

    • 7.7 ppg this season (WR55)

    • 13.5 point-average during the NFL Playoffs

The Pullies are going to take this name on here way too seriously. This isn’t the ‘good player becoming a great player’ placement on this list. This is the ‘bad, barely-keepable player becoming an average asset. Odell Beckham made it clear in the NFL Playoffs that he is still a good player. But he’s now an old wide receiver (29yo) who’s had his fair share of injury concerns. This is a player who has maybe two years left of good production, but AT LEAST he’s keepable going into next year no matter what team he’s on. He finished at WR55 in the regular season! Maybe he can sneak into the top-40 next year. That’s at least stock up.

  • Darius Bazley (SF/PF, Thunder) – Cooper Troopers

    • 193rd Overall Dynasty

    • 21 ppg on the season – 26.9 ppg over the last week

    • 26.7 mpg on the season – 32.6 mpg over the last week

Low-20s is the Mendoza Line for a productive player in the NBA League of Leagues. So any player like Darius Bazley who graduates from going from unplayable to playable. And he’s giving the Cooper Troopers a body to keep at the 6th keeper if all else fails.

  • Anfernee Simons (PG/SG, Trailblazers) – The Pullies

    • 193rd Overall Dynasty

    • 18.6 ppg on the season – 27.6 ppg over the last 15 days

    • 21.9 mpg on the season – 26.4 mpg over the last 15 days

Our first repeat offender on this list. Simons has not played as well since being on here for the first time, but this was before the CJ McCollum trade. Anfernee Simons is one of the few competent players on this talkathon roster, and Simons could put up huge counting stats as the season goes along.

STOCK DOWN Players

  1. Russell Westbrook (PG, Lakers) – Ornery Otters

  2. Kristaps Porzingis (PF/C, Wizards) – Win’s Up Doc

  3. Jerami Grant (SF/PF, Pistons) – Las Cabras

  4. Devonte’ Graham (PG/SG, Pelicans) – Cooper Troopers

  5. Duncan Robinson (SG/SF, Heat) – The BamO’s

  6. Bradley Beal (SG, Wizards) – MN Moose Knuckles

  7. Dennis Schroeder (PG, Celtics) – Win’s Up Doc

  8. Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB, Chiefs) – Wait ‘Til Next Year

  9. Malcolm Brogdon (PG/SG, Pacers) – Ornery Otters

  10. Anthony Edwards (SG/SF, Timberwolves) – The Pullies

  • Russell Westbrook (PG, Lakers) – Ornery Otters

    • 96th Overall Dynasty

    • 34.5 ppg on the season – 18.9 ppg over the last week

    • 34.6 mpg on the season – 27.5 mpg over the last week

Westbrook officially looks #washed. He’s being benched for overtimes. His minutes are lowering, and the Lakers clearly wanted to trade him. Westbrook is an unkeepable asset this point, and his value is going to continue to decrease. Ornery Otters might want to try to get something for him at some point before the Russell Westbrook story is written and his career is over.

Kristaps Porzingis (C/PF, Wizards) – Win’s Up Doc

  • 62nd Overall Dynasty

  • 34.3 ppg on the season – 14.8 ppg over the last two weeks

  • 29.5 mpg on the season – 19 mpg over the last two weeks

Say hello to an upcoming litany of late-season “injuries” for Kristaps Porzingis! Without Bradley Beal, the Wizards are going to be fully in tank mode. Porzingis is already hurt, and now he’s just not going to play. He’s going to be one of the most annoying fantasy players down the stretch. Win’s Up Doc might have enough firepower to win the

  • Jerami Grant (SF/PF, Pistons) – Las Cabras

    • 98th Overall Dynasty

    • 28.4 ppg on the season – 18.4 ppg over the last two weeks

    • 32.5 mpg on the season – 29.8 mpg over the last two weeks

Jerami Grant is lost in Detroit. They just traded for Marvin Bagley. They have a lot of random players. Grant does not seem like a lynchpin to this roster, and his value could have peaked already. Las Cabras have the worst NBA keepers because of players like Jerami Grant whose values are lessening throughout the season.

  • Devonte’ Graham (PG/SG, Pelicans) – Cooper Troopers

    • 126th Overall Dynasty

    • 22.4 ppg on the season – 18.7 ppg over the last two weeks

    • 31.3 mpg on the season – 30.8 mpg over the last two weeks

Not only has Graham’s production declined as the season’s gone along, but now the Pelicans just traded for CJ McCollum, a similar player to Devonte’ Graham. The Cooper Troopers officially have the worst 6th keeper for NBA. Devonte Graham is untenable. Bazley might be a body just to throw on, but it would be a crime for the Cooper Troopers to go into next year’s season without trading for an NBA body.

  • Duncan Robinson (SG/SF, Heat) – The BamO’s

    • 219th Overall Dynasty

    • 17.5 ppg on the season – 14.3 ppg over the last two weeks

    • 27.5 mpg on the season – 25.5 mpg over the last two weeks

What a horrible year for Duncan Robinson. He’s an unplayable asset now, and he’s really let The BamO’s down. He’s always going to be a fringe roster player and doesn’t even have trade value right now.

  • Bradley Beal (SG, Wizards) – MN Moose Knuckles

    • 37th Overall Dynasty

    • out for season – wrist

Bradley Beal could be higher on this list, but in reality, not a ton changes for Beal long-term. There isn’t as much concern about him going forward, though it obviously hurts to lose a player this good this late in the season. But the MN Moose Knuckles aren’t likely going to place this season anyways, and it doesn’t change all that much.

Dennis Schroeder (PG, Celtics) – Win’s Up Doc

  • 145th Overall Dynasty

  • 33.5 ppg on the season – 12.8 ppg over the last two weeks

  • 29.2 mpg on the season – 22.4 mpg over the last two weeks

Dennis Schroeder’s value was already pretty low, but now we’re seeing what he’s worth in the trade market. A year after declining a $90 million extension with the Lakers, Dennis Schroeder is getting traded for Daniel Theis. The Rockets won’t have any plans for him, and his best-case scenario right now is to get bought out and join a team in desperate need of a point guard. Otherwise this could be an asset lost to the season.

  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB, Chiefs) – Wait ‘Til Next Year

    • 69th Overall Dynasty (nice)

    • playoffs

As the playoffs went along, it was clear that Clyde Edwards-Helaire was not even the #1 RB on the Chiefs. He’s had his chances, but injuries and poor play have doomed him to a very mediocre career. A first-round running back with pass-catching prowess should not be this bad on a Patrick Mahomes team. Wait ‘Til Next Year could end up essentially wasting a keeper on Clyde Edwards-Helaire. He could be a bench clog his entire career, never providing enough value to start for either the Chiefs or Wait ‘Til Next Year. He could also be a good buy-low candidate.

  • Malcolm Brogdon (PG/SG, Pacers) – Ornery Otters

    • 42nd Overall Dynasty (QB12)

    • injured

Brogdon was already banged up, but now the Pacers are in full tank mode. He’ll be sitting games down the stretch, and the Ornery Otters need his help. On top of that, Haliburton and Brogdon are very similar players. They should be able to coexist given their efficiency, but there’s no doubt that Haliburton becomes the most important asset on the Indiana Pacers while Brogdon will begin getting phased out.

  • Anthony Edwards (SG/SF, Timberwolves) – The Pullies

    • 25th Overall Dynasty

    • 32.7 ppg on the season – 21.3 ppg over the last week

    • 34.9 mpg on the season – 33 mpg over the last week

This could be more of an injury situation, but Ant is not playing well right now. Certainly not well for fantasy. It might start getting better, but he could be spending too many late nights at DTC every night. He could be running into a physical wall for a sophomore slump. If there is long-term concern for Edwards, that pulls The Pullies down a level or two.
