NFL Week 1 Preview

"When you play in the League of Leagues, you win or you die." – Cersei Lannister
"I am become death, destroyer of the League of Leagues." – J. Robert Oppenheimer
"Another one bites the dust in the League of Leagues." – Queen
"And Joshua made peace with them, and made a League of Leagues with them, to let them live." – Joshua 9:15

EVERYBODY talkin' about the League of Leagues this week before opening week of the season. The time hath come. The season is approaching as quickly as @Jordan Dye spends his money in an auction draft. The first 3 weeks of the season are all divisional play. Getting off to a hot start in your division is the most foolproof way to ensure a spot in the 'offs and those juicy sweet points at the end of the NFL season towards the end goal of winning $4000 and the League of Leagues.

Nolo's Division is the gauntlet division this year, no doubt. It's spearheaded by @Craig McCall's extra football budget. @Michael Strauss and @Korey Koob are lurking behind the Porkchop Express, ready to pounce when the time is right. At least there's @Pat mcgonagill's fall from grace. He was up at 5th in the power rankings after the draft, but it's been all bad news for Dr. Down Bad who is the only team with only one starting QB.

Fhima's Division is the worst of the three divisions. @Ooms is on the bottom for now, but none of the teams are terrifically opposing. If @Ooms can get off to a hot division start and someone compete for a division title, he's the odds-on favorite to win the entire league. @Jordan Sinclair and @Trevor Pearson's team is built with a high floor every week. I doubt they'll ever be out of it. And @Cooper Johnson built a nice, balanced team. @Chris Hall's Moose Knuckles are looking much better with Teddy Being named a starter and a loaded RB and WR room.

Shepherd Goods Division is lead by @BamO. The 3 other teams are middle-of-the-pack squads. We'll see if @Jordan Dye, @Peter/@Eric Herm, or @Jack Bennett can jump up in these rankings.

Week 1 Matchup of the Week
DTC Porkchop Express (2) vs Ornery Otters (4)

QB1 – Ryan Tannehill (ARI) vs Matthew Stafford (CHI)

RB1 – Aaron Jones (@NO) vs Jonathan Taylor (SEA)
RB2 – Joe Mixon (MIN) vs Damien Harris (MIA)

WR1 – Keenan Allen (@WAS) vs DeAndre Hopkins (@TEN)

FLEX2 – Josh Jacobs (BAL) or Diontae Johnson (@BUF) vs Chris Godwin (DAL)

D/ST – Chargers (@WFT) vs Buccaneers (DAL)

DTC Porkchop Express: Advantage at 4/10 positions (including both QBs)
Ornery Otters: Advantage at 6/10 positions

Notes: This should be a tight little week 1 matchup. @Korey Koob's strategy not to spend crazy at QB (and luck out with Winston) will be put to an early test. Not that @Craig McCall has the greatest QBs of all time, but each of them have juicy week 1 matchups. However, all Craig's RBs and his top WR all have crazy tough matchups and it's the opposite for Korey. Somehow, Korey has 4 WRs ranked in the top-16 this week and Craig has 4 in the top-21.Whoever wins takes top claim on the toughest division in the League of Leagues and awaits a matchup with @Michael Strauss in the next couple of weeks (along with an easy win against @Pat mcgonagill). A 3-0 division record to start the year in this division would be a favorite for a playoff BYE (and the minimum 9 points that a BYE guarantees towards the end-of-season tally).Whoever loses this game puts his team at risk of @Michael Strauss putting them down into an 0-2 or 1-2 hole. Be prepared for this division to have more than its fair share of Matchup of the Weeks.
