Tier 3

A perfectly symmetrical standings, as all things should be. There are three undefeated teams. Three 2-1 teams. Three 1-2 teams. And of course, that means there are three 0-3 teams, all in Tier 3 of the Power Rankings. Whilst the Moose Knuckle Express (11) and BS&B (12) are in FULL tank mode AND they get their ONE Matchup this week this season to decide the tiebreaker between them. Whoever wins unfortunately will be a game and a half ahead of the other in the standings with H2H tiebreakers, and will have the edge for the #1 overall pick.

GM Nick Kruse was not necessarily expecting to be 0-3, but fate hath brought him low all the same. The Viking Kings tried to hedge, getting both players for the future (Kenny Pickett, James Cook, Dobbins) and for the present (Russ, Waller, ARob, Evans). The problem is that his vets have been disappointing so far, and his young guys have not contributed. Plus, CumDawg Division was a gauntlet, and it has rendered him a bottom-3 team in the league. The season isn’t necessarily over for Nick, but he plays the top two teams in the league the next couple of weeks, so 0-5 is his likeliest record. He’d be better served tanking for Stroud, Young or Bijan, offloading his vets for an acceptable price.

The MN Direwolves (9) and Sha Town State of Mind (8) shouldn’t be this low on the rankings with at least one win on their books, but they are 2 of the 4 lowest-scoring teams and should be considered closer to sellers than buyers. And speaking of that, here’s a makeshift projected trading block of these teams if they did choose to sell with their FantasyPros Rest-of-Season ranking.

QBs

  1. 1st Overall Pick of Blood, Sweat, and Beers (top-2) CJ Stroud or Bryce Young

    1. Note – with Deshaun Watson and Justin Herbert on Cole’s roster, which is worst in the league, the best bang for his buck would be to trade his top draft pick for another first round pick (or two or three) and load up on other positions to improve his lot. Bijan Robinson is an excellent pick for him, but the QBs are more valuable.

  2. Matthew Stafford (Moose Knuckle Express) – QB8

  3. Russell Wilson (Viking Kings) – QB14

  4. Aaron Rodgers (Sha Town) – QB15

  5. Jameis Winston (Direwolves) – QB20

  6. Jimmy Garoppolo (Sha Town) – QB25

  7. Geno Smith (Sha Town) – QB32

RBs

  1. Derrick Henry (Direwolves) – RB6

  2. James Conner (Direwolves) – RB16

  3. Darrell Henderson (Sha Town) – RB39

  4. Melvin Gordon (Moose Knuckle Express) – RB42

WRs

  1. Cooper Kupp (Viking Kings) – WR1

  2. Deebo Samuel (BS&Bs) – WR9

  3. Mike Evans (Viking Kings) – WR13

  4. Brandin Cooks (Moose Knuckle Express) – WR27

  5. Amari Cooper (Viking Kings) – WR31

  6. Allen Lazard (Direwolves) – WR37

  7. Allen Robinson (Viking Kings) – WR39

  8. Adam Thielen (Sha Town) – WR40

  9. Robert Woods (Direwolves) – WR57

TEs

  1. Darren Waller (Viking Kings) – TE4

  2. George Kittle (Sha Town) – TE5

  3. Zach Ertz (Viking Kings) – TE7

  4. Dawson Knox (Direwolves) – TE13

  5. Gerald Everett (Moose Knuckle Express) – TE14

In summary, that’s a lot of VERY veteran talent on bad teams. Almost all of those players will go down in value in future years due to age, injury or situation, so teams should capitalize on that before it’s too late.

Tier 2

Slutski on Turf (7) takes the unenviable spot of the first team out of the playoffs. His depth-focused team, should lead him through BYE weeks well enough, but we aren’t quite to BYE season yet.

The Golden Hours (6) have managed to go 1-1 since Dak Prescott’s injury, but a more difficult schedule awaits. He has to wait 4 more weeks until he plays another team in the bottom-4. If he flounders, he could easily drop out of playoff position.

Big Lunge Guy (5) and the Evil Natured Robots (4) are up next after playing each other in a crucial matchup that Bob reigned victorious in. At 3-0 in the most difficult division, the Evil Natured Robots are closer to Tier 1 than any other team. He’ll be ecstatic to play other teams and start beating up on them, but he has one of the thinnest teams in the league depth-wise and might get exploited in the upcoming BYE weeks.

Big Lunge Guy gets a tough draw in the first couple of weeks of non-divisional play, also drawing the top-2 scoring teams in the league in subsequent weeks. But then the schedule lightens up as it goes along. He is also built on (non-QB) depth and shouldn’t be an easy out in the dog days of the season.

Tier 1

Dr. Chopper (3) is a 1-loss team, but still deserves mention up at the top. It’s a fantastic team with excellent QBs (though Tua is banged up right now). They’ve had an easy go of it in their two wins, however, as the two non-Zappa Cooper’s Johnson Division-mates scored only 165 points total in two weeks against them. Dr. Chopper burned two massive scoring outputs on bad teams, and now the schedule gets rough. The last 4 weeks will be a cakewalk, but expect almost every matchup until then to be a dogfight.

Kyle’s Pitts (2) is in the second spot by virtue of having the second-best odds of getting a BYE. His wins aren’t as convincing as some other teams, but he plays bad teams the next two weeks and should be 5-0 unless something goes terribly wrong.

And the top dog remains Zappa, leading Edible Sunday to a raucous start. The Dalvin Cook injury might sour his chances, but he still has a couple of moves left in him if he needs to add another QB and WR. By going RB-heavy, he is in clear win-now mode and looks to continue his winning ways against tough CumDawg Division opponents 4 of the next 5 weeks.

Week 3 HIGH SCORE

  • Edible Sunday (Zappa)

  • 133

His reign of terror over Cooper’s Johnson continued this week, going 3-0 against teams that were not prepared for the onslaught. He was top dog despite a subpar Mahomes game and an awful Wentz performance. He’s still very healthy, and has running backs like James Robinson to trade away and improve a WR position that could use some depth before BYES (as well as another QB).

Week 3 LOW SCORE

  • Moose Knuckle Express (Craig & Hall)

  • 80.74

Another week. Another low score. Congrats to Hall and Craig on an impressive tank job.

Week 3 MVP

  • Mark Andrews

  • Slutski on Turf (Jimmy)

  • 29pts

In a game that would have been much closer had David Montgomery not gone out right away for the Viking Kings, Mark Andrews was the difference. The best TE in fantasy for dynasty has thrown together a great start to the season, giving Slutski his only chance to truly compete with that weekly edge at TE in premium format.

Week 3 LVP

  • Jerry Jeudy

  • Golden Hours (Connor)

  • 2.7pts

With no clear LVP this week outside of the Moose Knuckles Express who are trying to throw games, the Golden Hours presents Jerry Jeudy – a wide receiver for Russell Wilson that looks to be in a miserable situation. With a big play or two, Jeudy could have led the Golden Hours to victory, but he submarined his chances against Connor’s only threatening divisional opponent.

Week 4 Matchups
