(Tier 1) Welcome to upset city! As a result of 4 of the (previous) top-6 teams losing and each of the bottom-3 teams winning, we have a strange canvas going into week 2. Right now, the only two teams you should have supreme week-to-week confidence in are $traight Cash Homie (2) and, after a shrewd trade, the Cooper Troopers (1). Coop’s TE and WR talent is absurd, but there are still questions about the quarterbacks, Brady and Tua. RBs are still more than solid both Swift and Edmonds as well as their handcuffs.

$traight Cash Homie also has a stellar group of wideouts made even better by Jahan Dotson’s rookie debut. He’s deep at RB with a plethora of options. After Week 1 performances, Dawson Knox at TE is his only concern, but TE doesn’t matter for League of Leagues very much. He’s slightly behind the Cooper Troopers, and these teams stand head and shoulders above the rest of the league.

(Tier 2) The SG Choppers (3) make the biggest leap on this list, but there’s a lot left to prove from GM Jordan Dye’s collection of talent. Obviously, the QBs are outstanding. Hurts is currently projected as the #2 fantasy QB on the season, so the Choppers have two top-3 QBs to provide an excellent baseline and ceiling every week with Jared Goff ready to fill in in the event of an injury. The rest of the team is still a bit of a work in progress, but Christian McCaffrey is back on track. This team has 3 stars and that counts for a lot these days.

Las Cabras (4) has had a bit of bad luck to start this season, and they are the first loss-column team to make this list. Kittle’s injury obviously hurts, but TE doesn’t always matter in LoL, as is routinely mentioned. The bigger concern is Kyler Murray, whom Las Cabras really needs to carry the team while David Montgomery and Javonte Williams are in timeshares and the receivers are slow coming out of the gate. This team is still good, but this week against the Choppers is a CRUCIAL week for their season’s success. 0-2 against the division would be a tough pill, but this division is winnable. That’s why they are ahead of any other team with a loss right now.

The BamO’s (5) barely hold onto a Tier 2 ranking. Right now, bettors are still focusing on the strength of the roster prior to the season, but there’s not a whole lot to get excited about here. Teir two QBs, Rodgers and Wilson, showed their age this week. Both could turn in sub-par seasons and there is nothing behind them. And now the BamO’s face off against the top team in the league this week with an 0-2 start as a possibility in a tough division. This season could go off the rails for Sam and Ez quickly if things don’t improve.

DTC Porkchop Express (6) also almost slips down into Tier 3 with a horrible performance in week 1. The QBs, as always, are a concern with this team, but let’s see what happens when Trey Lance isn’t playing in a monsoon. The roster is still solid beyond QB.

In summary, each of the Tier 2 teams with losses, Las Cabras, The BamO’s and Porkchop Express are elated by the Sporty Strauss trade for Dak. Now, despite losing, they are still in the thick of things with only unproven teams behind them.

(Tier 3) This Tier is chalk full of teams with wins ready to climb. The Pullies (7) just beat the team that they would most like to beat this season in NFL – Las Cabras. If they can knock Las Cabras out of playoff contention, Jordan and Trev would likely start tanking with weaker NBA and MLB rosters. As a result, The Pullies could stand out in a weaker division.

The Ornery Otters (8) don’t quite have that luxury. With the Cooper Troopers AND Wait ‘Til Next Year, the two presumptive favorites in the league, in the division, it’s going to be tough sledding all season long. The Otters still surprised last week and now know not to plug James Cook into their lineup anymore. But Korey has games against both of those aforementioned division mates in the next two weeks, games which should clearly show the state of all #Fhima’s Division contenders.

Next up are the MN Moose Knuckles (9) who really should be higher. They stand the most to gain if Sporty Strauss truly tanks this season. In NFL, they still have two games in hand against Strauss (including one this week). And if Strauss tanks, Hall could take advantage of a VERY weak NBA division and a mediocre MLB division. In terms of the team itself, the MN Moose Knuckles aren’t a disaster. They’ll have inconsistent weeks, but the RBs and Mark Andrews should carry them to some victories. A fringe playoff contender is still the perfect spot to place them.

(Tier 4) Instead of Tiers of thirds, we have Tiers of quarters this week. On this bottom tier, Wait ‘Til Next Year (10) is in a very scary spot right now, particularly at FLEX. Cam Akers is a non-factor but might have to be started. At RB, Kareem Hunt and CEH aren’t bad and the receivers are okay, but CeeDee Lamb takes a massive hit without Dak. This team could be in trouble, but there is still hope in Justin Herbert winning games on his own.

Win’s Up Doc (11) is another team who might not be as bad as they seem. But the injury bug has hit already, knocking Elijah Mitchell out for an extended period of time. However, Saquon Barkley could be a league winner. He could singlehandedly dominate for Doc, and the Fields/Brissett/Geno Smith option at the QB positions doesn’t look to bad either.

All three teams in the bottom team look a bit helpless (right now), but help is on the way. For Sporty Strauss (12), that help could come in the shape of Dak Prescott recovering quicker than people thought. Beyond that, his QB room is in dire straits with only Trevor Lawrence manning the position. He’ll have to start some young, unproven players in tight spots, but there is still talent on this roster. There are still ways for Strauss to win. This is by no means the worst 12th-ranked team we’ve seen in LoL history.

It’ll be nice though. He can focus on his wedding and newlywed life instead of fantasy this LoL season. The stress of last year wore him thin.

Week 1 High Score

  • $traight Cash Homie (Jack)

  • 179

Notes: An excellent start from an excellent team. Despite only getting 1 point from his TE, he got solid contributions everywhere else on his roster. Chase, Tyreek Hill and Pittman are an absurd top-3 WRs and they should each have a high floor AND a high ceiling every week. Lamar and Cousins are probably a top-3 QB combination in the League of Leagues as well. Props to Jack on a well-built roster that should stand the test of time a little bit better this season.

Week 1 Low Score

  • DTC Porkchop Express (Craig)

  • 102 points

Notes: This isn’t the worst performance of all time, but it feels really yucky coming out of week 1. DTC Porkchop Express can blame DeVonta Smith above all who put up a beautiful goose egg in week 1. He also lost Keenan Allen in this game, so now he HAS TO start Devonta Smith going forward. Oh, the joys of the Porkchop Express!

Week 1 MVP

  • Cordarrelle Patterson

  • MN Moose Knuckles (Hall)

  • 21 points

Notes: A former Chopper hero has now become a Moose Knuckle hero. Patterson was a huge value drafted in the 4th round of the draft, and he is back to his old tricks. With Ty Allgeier inactive, Patterson took control of this backfield. He should be a stellar play every week, bringing the Moose Knuckles back into respectability.

Week 1 LVP

  • Aaron Rodgers

  • The BamO’s (Sam & EZ)

  • 3 points

Notes: There were SO many LVP choices this week, but The BamO’s lost by 9 points when Rodgers scored a measly 3. The Christian Watson drop LITERALLY was the difference in this game, so it’s hard to even blame this on Rodgers but Watson is also on this team, so the blame can be spread around. The BamO’s desperately need more from Rodgers going forward.

Week 2 Matchups

  • Cooper Troopers (1) vs Ornery Otters (8)

  • $traight Cash Homie (2) vs The BamO’s (5)

  • SG Choppers (3) vs Las Cabras (4)

  • DTC Porkchop Express (6) vs Wait ‘Til Next Year (10)

  • The Pullies (7) vs Win’s Up Doc (11)

  • MN Moose Knuckles (8) vs Sporty Strauss (12)
