12- Shepherd Goods Choppers (1-5) [-]

(Tier 1) The Porkchops are doing what they do best: GOING STREAKING! McCall enjoys dropping his clothes, plowing straight ahead in a long losing streak or a winning streak. Now, it’s a 4-game winning streak for DTC in basketball coupled with an 8-game streak in football. With losses in both leagues by Wait ‘Til Next Year, the Porkchops are in great shape. He’s scored more points than Wait ‘Til Next Year on the season, and doesn’t play either of the top two-teams until January. He has a tough-ish two game stretch against the MN Moose Knuckles and Pullies before an absurdly easy mid-season stretch against teams with one-win teams in 5 out of 6 straight weeks. The Porkchop Express got an EXCELLENT draw on the schedule. Expect more DTC PorkSTREAK Expresses as the season goes along.

The matchup of the week wasn’t too shabby either. Win’s Up Doc has clutched the NBA by the balls. He’s undefeated with a difficult schedule. He’s played and beaten 5 of the next 7 ranked teams in the league and has only played ONE 1-win team thus far this season (Shepherd Goods Choppers). After week 7, the schedule opens wide for the Doc, and he is an odds-on favorite to win a BYE.

(Tier 2) The Pullies have a chance to prove their record to the League of Leagues soon enough, but they’ll have to do it without Ja Morant. After middle-of-the-pack Sporty Strauss comes to town, the The Pullies have 6 out of 7 straight weeks against teams with 4 or more wins. The Pullies got a pretty bad schedule draw, and will need to hold on tight for the #2 seed.

The BamO’s are the bad break team of the NBA so far. He’s second in total points, and 7th in points scored. Yet he’s 3-3. He’s just had a few bad draws, but his team is solid. Unfortunately, he plays the top-2 teams in the next couple of weeks. The schedule really doesn’t lighten up all season, and his loss to $traight Cash Homie looms large.

Because of how many absolute trash teams are in the league, making the playoffs is going to be tough for anybody in this league. There are 8 teams with a .500 or better record, and only 6 of them can make the playoffs. The Ornery Otters are establishing themselves as a one of the favorites to MAKE the playoffs. With an easy schedule, a high point count and a team that’s rounding into form with improvements from Russ, Cade and others, this team is a force to be reckoned with.

And last in Tier 2, is Sporty Strauss, a team improving every single week. Strauss still needs to make some moves in NBA to truly compete, but he’s in the conversation now that play in Fhima’s Division is over and the rest of the schedule is easy as playing Jordan every week. Deandre Ayton is starting to play a little bit better. Mike Conley had a good week, and the Dillon Brooks trade definitely helped him out. This team has a lot of LOW-END depth, but lacks superstars behind Giannis or middle-tier players.

(Tier 3) 1-5 with this many bad teams is almost death knell for these four teams. However, we have the greatest scheduling quirk seen yet in the League of Leagues this week! These 1-5 teams all PLAY EACH OTHER. The winners of these games have a long road ahead to get back into contention, but the losers are essentially out of it.

The teams at the bottom of the power rankings have to do everything in their power to win this week

Week 6 High Score

  • Minnesota Moose Knuckles (Hall)

  • 1305 points

Notes: Another wasted week. MN Moose Knuckles had an excellent week with huge surprise play from Rozier, Gobert, Wendell Carter, Vanderbilt and Bobby Portis, but he burned the high scoring affair against the pitiful SG Choppers. The Knuckles are still more likely to fall out of contention than stay in, especially if teams give him trade offers that he can’t refuse.

Week 6 Low Score (AKA the JackJack Award)

  • Las Cabras

  • 822 points

Notes: Two straight weeks. Two teams not setting lineups. With two owners, they couldn’t even manage starts and sits every day and they left 5 plays on the bench. Las Cabras aren’t in tank mode (yet), but there will be punishments in the future for teams that aren’t getting their full plays.

Week 6 MVP

  • Clint Capela

  • DTC Porkchop Express (Craig)

  • 187 points

Notes: Sam’s team wasn’t bad this week, but DTC Porkchop Express still defeated The BamO’s largely because of Clint Capela’s play. 187 points is a ton any given week, and it’s a testament to Craig that he has a different player that steps up like this every week.

Week 5 LVP(s)

  • Andre Drummond

  • Wait ‘Til Next Year (Kyle)

  • 63 points

Notes: Kyle had been riding Drummond with Embiid’s COVID absence, but he didn’t get it done this week. He had one big week and one bad one, but Wait ‘Til Next Year probably wins this week if Drummond plays 3 games like he has all season behind Embiid.

Week 7 Matchups

  • Win’s Up Doc (1) vs The BamOs (5)

  • Wait ’Til Next Year (2) vs Ornery Otters (6)

  • DTC Porkchop Express (3) vs MN Moose Knuckles (7)

  • The Pullies (4) vs Sporty Strauss (8)

  • Las Cabras (9) vs Shepherd Goods Choppers (12)

  • Cooper Troopers (10) vs $traight Cash Homie (11)

Week 7 MATCHUP of the WEEK

  • The Pullies (4) vs Sporty Strauss (8)

This matchup has the most at stake right now. The Pullies have been playing well, and their monster week in football might give them hope to win the Consolation Bracket over there. Sporty Strauss, on the other hand, is in the most trouble in football right now. His basketball team is the lowest-scoring team of the top-8 (barely behind Moose Knuckles and Pullies), and he really needs to beat a team like The Pullies if he wants to make the playoffs in NBA, especially to take advantage of injuries like Ja Morant and OG Anunoby’s. It’s only a 3 play week for Giannis too.

PG1 – Darius Garland vs Derrick White
PG2 – Monte Morris vs Mike Conley

SG1 – Anthony Edwards vs Dillon Brooks
SG2 – Jordan Clarkson vs Eric Bledsoe

SF3 – LeBron James vs Gordon Hayward
SF4 – Gary Trent vs Brandon Ingram

PF1 – Kevin Durant vs Giannis Antetokounmpo
PF2 – Bojan Bogdanovic vs Draymond Green

C1 – Montrezl Harrell vs Deandre Ayton
C1 – Thaddeus Young vs Pascal Siakam

FLEX1 – Dorian Finney-Smith vs Reggie Jackson
FLEX2 – Anfernee Simons vs Franz Wagner
FLEX3 – Furkan Korkmaz vs Chris Duarte

Sporty Strauss: Advantage at 10/13 positions
DTC Porkchop Express: Advantage at 3/13 positions
