Trade Summary:
Good job by Sporty Strauss to scour the league and find this deal. Getting Alejandro Kirk for no read draft capital is a good move. Alejandro Kirk, a throw-in in a former Cooper Troopers trade, is a decent asset at this point in the season. He’s a 2.8 ppg scorer – only .2 points away from Ty France who was just jettisoned – and he fixes Strauss’ biggest weakness – catcher. It’s been a shot show at that position all season long for Sporty Strauss, and now it’s finally shored up.

The Cooper Troopers should have prioritized draft assets instead of win-now players for Kirk, even if the assets weren’t that exciting. But there’s no doubt that Kyle Gibson, who pitches the Marlins’ bottom-10 offense tonight, could help in his matchups against Las Cabras and $traight Cash Homie.

The Cooper Troopers didn’t get close to enough value for Alejandro Kirk, but you have to give him props for continuing to try to win without sacrificing future flexibility.
