Late-March Stock Up / Stock Down Report

Late-March Stock Up / Stock Down Report

Some players throughout the season move up or down in value. Many times, these movements directly correlate towards a change in a team’s rankings. These posts will capture these value change in ALL 3 SPORTS. They’ll primarily focus on in-season players, but if injuries or player movement happens in off-season sports, that’ll be denoted as well.

STOCK UP Players

  1. Davis Mills (QB, Texans) – $traight Cash Homie

  2. Deshaun Watson (QB, Browns) – Win’s Up Doc

  3. Tua Tagovailoa (QB, Dolphins) – Cooper Troopers

  4. Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster (WR, Chiefs) – Wait ‘Til Next Year

  5. Allen Robinson (WR, Rams) – MN Moose Knuckles

  6. Courtland Sutton (WR, Broncos) – Win’s Up Doc and Jerry Jeudy (WR, Broncos) – Ornery Otters

  7. Dalton Schultz (TE, Cowboys) – MN Moose Knuckles

  8. Javonte Williams (RB, Broncos) – Las Cabras

  9. Kyrie Irving (PG/SG, Nets) – Wait ‘Til Next Year

  10. Kristaps Porzingis (PF/C, Magic) – Win’s Up Doc

  11. Kris Bryant (3B/CO, Rockies) – The Pullies

  12. James Conner (RB, Cardinals) – $traight Cash Homie

  13. James Winston (QB, Saints) – Ornery Otters

  14. Mike Evans (WR, Buccaneers) – The BamO’s

  15. Carson Wentz (QB, Commanders) – The Pullies

  • Davis Mills (QB, Texans) – $traight Cash Homie

    • 133rd Overall Dynasty

All of a sudden, $traight Cash Homie is sitting on one of the most suprising league of leagues assets – a bonafide starter in his Practice Squad! He thought Davis Mills could keep the job, and he did (at least for this next season). Going forward, the Texans are likely to draft a big name starter in next year’s NFL draft, but Jack can reap the rewards this season of having a QB3 in his Practice Squad (though he still needs to get a few other keepers to make it seem like as big of a bonus as it is).

  • Deshaun Watson (QB, Browns) – Win’s Up Doc

    • 34th Overall Dynasty

      • Traded to Cleveland Browns

It feels icky to put Watson up this high - but that’s what you have to do. Just getting back on the field next year is huge for him and Win’s Up Doc’s fortunes. Now comes the only question: in which round does Oat think Jacoby Brissett is going to go and does he need to amass ammo to grab him? Or is there a reliable QB3 that he can get in the draft to fill as a stopgap.

  • Tua Tagovailoa (QB, Dolphins) – Cooper Troopers

    • 64th Overall Dynasty

Tua is a beneficiary of pieces moving around him to further bolster the Miami Dolphins starting lineup. It’s not just the Tyreek Hill move – it’s also Terron Armstead. The Dolphins aren’t letting Tua make any more excuses for not playing up to his potential.

  • Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster (WR, Chiefs) – Wait ‘Til Next Year

    • 102nd Overall Dynasty

      • Signed with the Kansas City Chiefs

This ranking is certainly subject to change with any further additions to the Chiefs’ receiving corps, but it doesn’t get any better for JuJu than sliding in as a de facto WR1 for Patrick Mahomes. The Pullies dropped JuJu to free agency for no reasons, and Wait ‘Til Next Year sat there ready to claim the rewards.

  • Allen Robinson (WR, Rams) – MN Moose Knuckles

    • 96th Overall Dynasty

      • Signed with the Los Angeles Rams

Allen Robinson is on this list solely for the ability to do SOMETHING next year. He was one of if not the biggest busts in fantasy last season, but he lands in a near-perfect situation with (finally) a competent quarterback and less pressure. Robinson is a keep-able player now, which was desperately needed for the MN Moose Knuckles.

  • Courtland Sutton (WR, Broncos) – Win’s Up Doc

    • 80th Overall Dynasty

  • Jerry Jeudy (WR, Broncos) – Ornery Otters

    • 60th Overall Dynasty

Some have Jerry Jeudy ranked as the biggest beneficiary to Russell Wilson’s addition to Denver, but it should be Courtland Sutton. Sutton is a much better fit for Wilson’s play style, and was an analytics darling for half the season last year. Either way, both receivers now have a huge ceiling with Russell Wilson throwing them the ball for years to come.

  • Dalton Schultz (TE, Cowboys) – MN Moose Knuckles

    • 101st Overall Dynasty

If TEs mattered, Dalton Schultz would be much higher on this list. Unfortunately for the MN Moose Knuckles, they already have a much better TE on the roster (Andrews) in the least important NFL position. But Schultz moved into a 2a/2b receiving role behind CeeDee Lamb in Dallas, and he should be a nice asset going forward. It just won’t be ideal if the MN Moose Knuckles end up using that asset without a better keeper in hand.

  • Javonte Williams (RB, Broncos) – Las Cabras

    • 12th Overall Dynasty

Javonte is the biggest darling in the fantasy football community right now. Somehow, he’s snuck up to a first round pick in dynasty drafts, despite never proving that kind of production. But his talent is undeniable, and Russell Wilson opens the ceiling for that offense. Williams should be a highly ranked option going forward.

  • Kyrie Irving (PG/SG, Nets) – Wait ‘Til Next Year

    • 51st Overall Dynasty

    • 41 ppg on the season – 63 ppg over the last 15

    • 36 mpg on the season – 34 mpg since the ASG

This dominant run by Kyrie Irving not only helped Wait ‘Til Next Year gain a point in the season long standings by being the MVP of the week last week, but he also is making Kyle feel much better about Kyrie as an asset going forward. He’s a weird guy, but his value should stabilize the further COVID drifts into the rearview mirror.

  • Kristaps Porzingis (PF/C, Magic) – Win’s Up Doc

    • 62nd Overall Dynasty

    • 34 ppg on the season – 36 ppg over the last month

    • 29 mpg on the season – 26 mpg over the last 15 days

Win’s Up Doc can also breathe easier having seen Kristaps Porzingis return from injury JUST in time to help him make a dynamic postseason run. Porzingis has been dominant (in fewer minutes) on Washington, and he’s helped Win’s Up Doc overcome a few injuries and win some playoff games. Porzingis will pair nicely with Bradley Beal on the court next season giving Doc another keepable asset in NBA.

  • Kris Bryant (3B/CO, Rockies) – The Pullies

    • 86th Overall Dynasty

Kris Bryant was a free agent when the draft started, but he signed in the most fantasy-friendly environment after The Pullies gave him a shot – Coors Field. Now, he can be a staple in The Pullies lineup for the next half decade.

  • James Conner (RB, Cardinals) – $traight Cash Homie

    • 86th Overall Dynasty

When Chase Edmonds signed in Miami, that freed up James Conner to be the man in Arizona. And while he will get paired up with someone in the backfield, unless that person comes from the draft, James Conner will be an immensely more talented player. $traight Cash Homie desperately needed this turn of events to bolster an RB room that still needs help. This gives him a rock solid RB2 to move forward into the future with.

  • James Winston (QB, Saints) – Ornery Otters

    • 126th Overall Dynasty

Another QB given a starting job, Winston isn’t the most exciting player. But a starting gig is a starting gig, and he played well enough last season to be a keeper for some team. The Ornery Otters’ allotment of keepers looks really impressive right now, and he’s a prime candidate to consolidate some of his excess in a stud or two before the keeper selection date.

  • Mike Evans (WR, Buccaneers) – The BamO’s

    • 53rd Overall Dynasty

Mike Evans easily could have been an irrelevant player without Brady in Tampa. Now, he takes a clear WR1 role with Godwin banged up to start the year. Mike Evans might not have the most long-term value in the League of Leagues, but he’s an unbelievable asset this coming season.

  • Carson Wentz (QB, Commanders) – The Pullies

    • 106th Overall Dynasty

Barely sneaking onto this list is Carson Wentz for The Pullies, who are in rough shape at QB behind Joe Burrow. They absolutely needed Wentz to get a job, which was by no means a guarantee. And now that Baker lost his job, this was a necessary landing spot for The Pullies who still have a ton of work to do on their keepers.

STOCK DOWN Players

  1. Baker Mayfield (QB, ???) – The Pullies

  2. Calvin Ridley (WR, Falcons) – Win’s Up Doc

  3. Jordan Love (QB, Packers) – $traight Cash Homie

  4. Tyler Lockett (WR, Seahawks) – Win’s Up Doc

  5. Jimmy Garoppolo (QB, 49ers) – DTC Porkchop Express

  6. Fernando Tatis, Jr. (SS/CO, Padres) – Las Cabras

  7. Jack Flaherty (SP, Cardinals) – Las Cabras

  8. Gavin Lux (2B/SS, Dodgers) – Cooper Troopers

  9. Stephen Curry (PG/SG, Warriors) – The BamO’s

  10. Ronald Acuna (CO, Braves) – Ornery Otters

  11. Jae’Sean Tate (SF/PF, Rockets) – Ornery Otters

  12. Devonta Parker (WR, Dolphins) – Wait ‘Til Next Year

  13. Tyreek Hill (WR, Dolphins) – $traight Cash Homie

  14. Davante Adams (WR, Raiders) – Sporty Strauss

  15. Patrick Williams (SF/PF, Bulls) – The Pullies

  • Baker Mayfield (QB, ???) – The Pullies

    • 108th Overall Dynasty

Speaking of Baker Mayfield, his stock has plummeted over the past couple of weeks. He might get left without a starting job, and will have to compete for one now no matter what now that the QB musical chairs are almost complete. Right now, Baker looks to be left without a starting QB job – an embarrassing turn for a former #1 overall pick. He obviously can’t be kept at his current status.

  • Calvin Ridley (WR, Falcons) – Win’s Up Doc

    • 99th Overall Dynasty

This one’s obvious. Don’t gamble when you’re on an NFL team. If we had done these lists all season, Ridley would have been on this list more times than we could count.

  • Jordan Love (QB, Packers) – $traight Cash Homie

    • 199th Overall Dynasty

Another QB left without a team, $traight Cash Homie gets the bad side of the QB draw here. Love ends up not getting the Packers’ job (ever) while Davis Mills won the Texans job. It all evens out for Jack.

  • Tyler Lockett (WR, Seahawks) – Win’s Up Doc

    • 89th Overall Dynasty

DK Metcalf could be on this list too, but he’s young and talented enough not to take a huge hit. He should be the focus of the new Seattle offense, and could have a much better year than last year. Lockett, on the other hand, is an aging player who’s best trait was his rapport with Russell Wilson. Now, he’s not really a keepable asset despite a ranking in the low 80s.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo (QB, 49ers) – DTC Porkchop Express

    • 140th Overall Dynasty

This could change too, but it doesn’t look great for Jimmy right now. He could definitely still end up in Carolina, but it won’t be for any meaningful trade or assets. Jimmy could potentially just be a rental QB, bouncing back and forth between starter and backup jobs for the next few seasons. That isn’t an asset you want.

  • Fernando Tatis, Jr. (SS/CO, Padres) – Las Cabras

    • 1st Overall Dynasty

A bummer injury for a promising player. Las Cabras desperately need Tatis to return on the early end of his time frame and be the same guy coming back, otherwise it could result in a complete lost season for Las Cabras.

  • Gavin Lux (2B/SS, Dodgers) – Cooper Troopers

    • 188th Overall Dynasty

When the Dodgers signed Freddie Freeman, it shuffled around the Dodgers starting lineup a bit. Lux takes the biggest hit when everyone is healthy, moving entirely to the bench. For where the Cooper Troopers took the versatile, young player, it was a huge reach.

  • Stephen Curry (PG/SG, Warriors) – The BamO’s

    • 16th Overall Dynasty

      • Out for rest of regular season

Even before his injury, Steph Curry was a declining asset. His play in the second half of the year has been significantly worse than the first half, a big reason for The BamO’s fall-off. Curry isn’t getting any younger either, and you can’t help but wonder if you’ve seen the best days from Curry in the past.

  • Ronald Acuna (CO, Braves) – Ornery Otters

    • 3rd Overall MLB Dynasty

Reports say that he’ll miss the first month of the season. It wasn’t discussed much, but Acuna was a risky pick. He should be great starting next season, but it might take him some time to get his feet under him.

  • Jae’Sean Tate (SF/PF, Rockets) – $traight Cash Homie

    • 134th Overall NBA Dynasty

    • 23 ppg on the season – 17ppg over the 15 days

    • 27 mpg on the season – 21 mpg over the 15 days

The declining minutes is a concerning omen for an old, young player. $traight Cash Homie was banking on Tate as a #hunk for next year, but his recent production wouldn’t cut it as a keeper. The Rockets won’t be this bad forever, and they are going to give minutes to players that might fit into their future more than Tate.

  • Devonta Parker (WR, Dolphins) – Wait ‘Til Next Year

    • 158th Overall NFL Dynasty

    • 30 ppg on the season – 26.5 ppg over the 15 days

    • 28 mpg on the season – 26 mpg over the 15 days

Parker didn’t have amazing value before the Tyreek Hill trade, but he was a fringe keeper name. Now, he’s probably the 4th receiving option on that team.

  • Tyreek Hill (WR, Dolphins) – $traight Cash Homie

    • 18th Overall Dynasty

      • Traded to the Miami Dolphins

Tyreek Hill obviously doesn’t disappear from the fantasy world, but not being in an offense with Patrick Mahomes can only hurt his value. He’s getting older, and now he’s back to his days with an Alex Smith-type QB.

  • Davante Adams (WR, Raiders) – Sporty Strauss

    • 134th Overall Dynasty

      • Traded the Las Vegas Raiders

Adams isn’t hurt quite as bad as Tyreek, but he takes a bit of a knock without Aaron Rodgers. Adams will just have a higher target share than Tyreek going forward, but he’s turning 30 and might start declining in the future. There’s a reason Sporty Strauss continually tried to move his team’s MVP many times this season

  • Patrick Williams (SF/PF, Bulls) – The Pullies

    • 212th Overall Dynasty

    • 11 ppg over the 15 days

    • 19 mpg over the 15 days

There’s still time for Patrick Williams to give The Pullies a reason to believe in him, but The Pullies were really hoping that Williams could end up as a serviceable #Hunk. At this point in his return to the court, it doesn’t appear so.
