(Tier 1) It’s Kyle’s League, and you’re all just living in it. Was Kyle the highest scoring of the week – no, he was fifth. Is his team in tip-top shape – no, it has some growing to do. But Wait ‘Til Next Year is bound to slay the daily roster moves every day, and any win he banks in is huge for Kyle’s run at the League of Leagues Championship.

(Tier 2) It’s hard to know which teams stand apart from each other. 3 teams in Week 1’s Tier 1 lost, leaving Kyle alone at the top. The teams ranked 7th through 10th last week all won, making a thick middle of the league this early. At the top here, are the Cooper Troopers which is a really solid roster. He needs to prove his dedication towards the basketball, however, and there is doubt about the Cooper Troopers coaching at the moment.

After that is Sporty Strauss, who lost to the aforementioned Cooper Troopers, but not by much! Strauss will only get stronger as the year goes along, and should never fall too far in the Power Rankings.

There isn’t a ton of worry about the Shepherd Goods Choppers, though an early season loss after him bragging about his drafting prowess is as sweet as nectar. Besides, he draws $traight Cash Homie this week, which is a salve for any loss.

Jordan is still favored more than the team that beat him, The BamOs, who are the surprise team after Week 1. It’s a promising start, and Sam has 3 legit stars with some VERY savvy supporting players like Miles Bridges. Sam has no hunks, and his 2022 season could be rough. But if he can stay alive in NBA this season, he can win it all.

The Ornery Otters are the highest scoring team of the year so far, and they should be higher on this list. But the PG-heavy roster might hold him back as the season goes along. There’s going to be some inconsistency with the Otters, but he’s off to a great start.

Win’s Up Doc and The Pullies are in a similar boat. They both had poor pre-season prognostications, but they pulled off a win last week. It’s too early to say whether each of these teams are pretenders or not, but a win’s a win. The Doc has a much better chance to compete than The Pullies, however, given the fact that he has a big-time star on his team in Luka Doncic. The question is whether or not Oat WANTS these dubs. Oat, more than any other team, is playing for a competitive 2022 season.

(Tier 3) First in the final tier is DTC Porkchop Express. It was a certainly a weak showing from Craig, but it wasn’t as ghastly as the other teams in Tier 3, who are the only other (non-Pullies) teams Craig would have beaten last week. It’s not a team bereft of talent, but the players seem a little cobbled together. It almost seems like a draft from a team that doesn’t know anything about basketball.

The MN Moose Knuckles fell about as far as one possible can. They officially have received the PRE-SEASON POWER RANKINGS CURSE! (enter scary halloween noises). Both the points projection AND the roster strength projected the Moose Knuckles to be the top team, but last week’s showing was awful. Depth in this league is king, but his depth played poorly and he didn’t get much production from his top players. For Chris Hall, it could be a long season – longer than whatever the moose’s knuckle is hiding below.

Las Cabras are also #NotGood. But they also didn’t seem to have a week in which their guys played very much. But D’Angelo Russell looks like one of the biggest busts in the entire draft. Outside of Jokic, the G.O.A.T. of fantasy basketball, it’s all kids. Nobody stands out, and Las Cabras is going to need to make a move to acquire some NBA talent sooner rather than later, before the season slips from them.

Last is $traight Cash Homie. It’s DEFCON 1 in the Homies front office right now, and the tilt has entered full swing. Jack can wait until Zion or Isaacs gets back, but it might be too late at that point. A loss to the Pullies is the worst way to start a season anyone could possible have, and it’s going to be a long time before we see Jack Bennett relevant in this part of the League of Leagues or the season as a whole.

Week 1 High Score

  • Ornery Otters (Korey)

  • 1211 points

Notes: A statement victory over the DTC. Korey got excellent production out of the Ball bros. His PG-heavy lineup scored about 410 points on the week. Not too shabby.

Week 1 Low Score

  • $traight Cash Homie (Jack)

  • 859 points

Notes: Sound the alarms. Put in the trade calls! $traight Cash Homie’s season might become No Cash Homies very soon if he doesn’t right the ship. His League of Leagues teams are about to go broke.

Week 1 MVP

  • Kevin Durant

  • The Pullies (Peter and Eric)

  • 166 points

Notes: Kevin Durant had a 3-play week and he destroyed in each of the 3 games. But The Pullies didn’t quite need this production, and it’ll leave them more shorthanded in week 2 without a dominant Nets schedule.

Week 1 LVP(s)

  • Aleksej Pokusevski

  • MN Moose Knuckles (Chris Hall)

  • 13.8 points

Notes: Chris was playing with fire with Pokusevski and his #Hunks. He started his #2 Hunk twice in the week for an average of about 7 points per game. Then he sat him and the Thunder forward scored over 23 points. With a 60-point loss, Hall’s coaching has been very suspect. Depth is good, but it doesn’t mean anything if Chris Hall’s coaching and rotations are this poor.

Week 2 Matchups

  • Wait ’Til Next Year (1) vs Cooper Troopers (2)

  • Sporty Strauss (3) vs Ornery Otters (6)

  • Shepherd Goods Choppers (4) vs $traight Cash Homie (12)

  • The BamOs (5) vs The Pullies (8)

  • Win’s Up Doc (7) vs DTC Porkchop Express(9)

  • MN Moose Knuckles (10) vs Las Cabras (11)
